Skandfer who?

Welcome to the SkandferFilm-site!

 I’m Endre Skandfer - Norwegian director and art-director.

Since October 2007 I’ve been working for StormStudios in Oslo as Creative Director in charge of both visuals and sound for the upcoming MMORPG called World Beside. The project is very ambitious, so this is a huge undertaking that’ll give me priceless experience. I’ll put out more info on that later…

StormStudios is an awardwinning Oslo-based studio that does a lot of interesting things, from SFX’s in feature films to animation and - obviously - games.

Before I started at StormStudios I worked at Qvisten Animation for more than seven years. Qvisten Animation does high-end TV-ads, TV-series and features in a variaty of animation-techniques and styles. It’s currently the largest animation-studio in Norway.

During the yars at Qvisten Animation I mostly worked as an art-director, but I also directed some shorts, music videos and quite a few ads. From 2006 to 2007 I directed five episodes of the first season in the TV series “Kutoppen” (”Cattle Hill”, 13×7min in total). From fall 2006 I was art-directing the animated feature “Kurt blir grusom” (”Kurt turns Evil”), which is scheduled to premiere in October 2008.  

SkandferFilm is a one-man-business that I’ve created on the side to be able to mix business and pleasure in total freedom. I do some freelance comissions, but that’s not why I started SkandferFilm. Through this business I’m finally able to develop my own concepts and projects. What a luxury!

I wish to use the skandferfilm.com-site to develop my own skills and horizons. At the same time it gives me the opportunity to share my expressions and impressions with all of you. It will hopefully also get me in touch with fellow artists. The work showcased here is mostly personal stuff, but you’ll also find some of my comissioned work. I’ll also put out sketches and concepts from projects which were never finished, or that simply took another direction.
